The stories chronicle the Nightworld in medieval times, before Circle Daybreak reformed, and when the lords and ladies of the Nightworld held the ruling power.
I have taken some severe liberties with history, so grant me a little artistic licence, please - but if you find any severe anachronisms (if one of the characters whips out a Gameboy), do let me know.

Part of a duo of bounty hunters, she played the snare for a dozen petty Nightworld denizens: thinking of herself of the hunter, it never occurred to her that she might become prey.
Riches. Fame. Power. All traps for the unwary as far as Sica Aldernik was concerned.
She had learned to live under Nightworld rule: a poacher and hunter, she survived through camouflage and the help of the local people. And then she ran into Larch Blackthorn, and learned there were other traps of a far deadlier nature.
