It was a secret that sent Chatoya Irkil running from her home, leaving her brother dead and her family in the hands of the Nightworld. Now she had a new home, with people she didn't know and wasn't sure if she could trust. Unable to grieve, unwilling to fight, she thought it would be easy to forget there.

Someone didn't want her to forget.

Author's Note: Shimmer is a stand alone story, though it can also be read as part of the Shadows of Secrets series. Chronologically, it's the first story featuring any of the Fires of Fate characters.
