Another of the early stories, this was begun shortly after Heartsong and acts, I suppose, more as an extended prologue for Darkstar than anything else. One day, it will be rewritten into something else, but for now, it stands as it is: brief, flawed, but an interesting foray. This was the first time I ever tried writing L. J. Smith's characters - and quickly abandoned the attempt.
Summary: Part Three of the 'Fires of Fate' series. Trifolia Rasmussen didn't believe in much. God had let her down a long time ago. Circle Daybreak were on the wrong side. The Nightworld were mostly thugs. Her ex-family hated her. But she had always been different and someone knew that. They needed her help. And when the end of the world was at stake, she found a cause worth believing in.
