Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where do I start?

A: Good question. My recommendation would be with Chimera as it introduces most of the main characters and concepts. It is rather long, however.

If you'd prefer something shorter, try Remember.

Q: What order should the stories be read in?

A: While it's just about optional, as I've tried to write each so it can be read as a stand-alone tale as well as part of a series, reading them chronologically is probably the best way:

Fires of Fate and Shadows series:

Shimmer
Kelekona
Heartsong
Trifolia
Darkstar
Promises to Keep
Ouroboros
Nightfire
Remember
Chimera
Splitscreen

The Timeless Series:

Enganoso
Aliquebrado
Hechizar

Searching Series

Deathwish
Eternity Ring

Q: What's with all the unhappiness?

A: In my defence, I don't think everything I write is full of pain and misery, but I don't like conventional happily-ever-afters. I like things to be a little more realistic. And that means it's not necessarily going to be easy.

Yes, I do realise I'm writing about vampire, dragon and witches. Realism is all in the eye of the beholder, and I'm myopic.

Q: Why does it take you so long to write everything?

A: A lot of reasons. I did use to write a part a week, but life has grown a little more complicated. Understand, I'm not making excuses here: at the end of the day, it's down to me to clear time.

I'm in full-time work, so I devote arund 45-50 hours a week to my job. I also do most of my writing in the evenings, which is also when my social life tends to happen.

I also want to make what I write of a good quality. That means taking a little more time on it. Chimera's epilogue went through nine or ten drafts before I put it up, and believe me, it could still use editing.

Q: What are you writing next?

At the moment, I'm getting on with Kelekona, which no longer bears any relation to the original version, except in its trivia. I'm also working on Long Lost and A Lady's Shield.
